I’m not sure if you noticed or not, but I took the day off yesterday.

It is so easy for me to find myself totally overwhelmed by life during a normal time of the year.  But Christmas seems to be an especially busy time for all of us.  We are having a Christmas party at our house with my brother, sisters, and their families on Friday.  I woke up this morning with a To-Do List that seemed impossible to finish in time.

So I didn’t blog or look for any deals online today.  Instead we went holiday grocery shopping, decorated our Christmas tree, put up Christmas lights and our manger scene outside. I did some baking while my husband built a countertop in the basement for a piece of granite he garbage picked from a construction job he did a while back and painted our downstairs hallway.

We watched Total Recall with our kids, it was the remake version and sadly it did not live up to my expectations.  In fact the entire story line was left out although there was plenty of action to keep some entertained enough that they might not notice that there was no plot.  When we finished the movie my son said he still had no idea what it was about.

So Christmas is officially less than a week away! While I still have some decorating, baking, and wrapping to do I feel so much closer to finishing the To-Do List.  Sometimes you just have to take a step back from the hustle and bustle of the season and just enjoy it a bit.

That’s what yesterday was for me.  How are you doing with your Christmas To-Do List?
