This time of year marks the beginning of school for kids all across the country. It also marks the beginning of the flu season. Teachers need to keep their classrooms as clean and germ free as possible.
Clorox has teamed up with the National Education Association (NEA) to support all of our teachers in their efforts to keep their classrooms clean. Especially with the scare of the H1N1 Swine Flu making a comeback again this season.
From September 2nd through the 5th teachers can get a free canister of Clorox Canister Wipes to use in their classrooms to keep those nasty germs at bay.
Once teachers check out the Clorox site to get their free canister of Clorox wipes, they will also find lots of other resources to use with their class to teach healthy habits to the kids.
We all know how important it is to teach kids healthy habits like hand washing and disinfecting germ hot spots. It’s not enough for the teacher to understand these things if the kids still spread the germs through unhealthy actions.
But now teachers can use the free downloadable “Clean Up The Classroom Kit” to teach the kids in their classrooms how to keep germs away. The kit includes lesson plans, games and other tools.
One of the things they tell you to teach the kids is the elbow cough. By covering their mouths by coughing into their elbow instead of into their hand the spread of germs is stopped.
My son learned this in preschool, and it was the fist time I had ever seen it before, but I saw the benefit and quickly taught everyone in my home to cough that way.
