It is so important to keep kids reading throughout the summer months.
This keeps their minds sharp, and thankfully there are a lot of programs that offer reading incentives to help encourage our kids to read all summer long!
Here are a few that I have found. If you know of any others, I’d love for you to share them in the comments section.
Barnes and Noble Passport to Reading: earn a free book between May 25 and September 7, 2010, when you read 8 books.
Half Price Book Feed Your Brain: Kids ages 14 and under can earn a $3 Half Price Books Shopping Card for each week they read at least 15 minutes per day.
Borders Double Dog Dare: Read 10 books, get 1 free. This is for kids 12 and under.
National Amusements Bookworm Wednesdays: Earn free kid movies and prizes.
Reading Warriors 2010 Challenge: All ages can join for a summer reading adventure!
Scholastic Summer Challenge: Offers a chance for kids to log their reading times into their system to compete for the World Record!
TD Bank: Young readers can earn a $10 deposit after they read 10 books.
I also want to add that most libraries have summer reading programs too!
