Friendship Has Interrupted

I had an unexpected visit from an old friend today.

It was a time of refreshing for me. There were no agendas or tasks to be completed. Just two people taking time to connect and share. And I’ll admit that this is an extreme rarity for me.

This made me think of how easy it is to get wrapped up in our own lives. Sometimes, with all of the busyness going on around us, we don’t see the value in a simple conversation.

I have to tell you that I had a list of things I was planning on getting done today. As I am sure she did too. But once my friend came over and we started talking, none of that mattered. She may not have even realized how much her visit meant to me. To be perfectly honest, I didn’t even know how much it meant to me until now.

The Lord has a wonderful way of interrupting my day in the most perfect way.

The list is still there and it will one day get accomplished. But what did get accomplished today was way more important than cutting the grass.
