Tuna RecipeI am curious to know if you or anyone in your family eats healthy tuna?  I just came from a grocery run where I picked up some tuna.  This is like a staple at our house.  But I got to thinking that maybe this is not the case for everyone?

I know that when I was pregnant everyone told me that I should stay away from seafood.  And I did, except I could not bring myself to stay away from tuna?

I wish I knew about the benefits of eating tuna while pregnant then.  Of course seafood such as shark, mackerel, and swordfish should never be eaten by a pregnant woman due to the high levels of mercury that can be found in them.  But this is not the case with tuna.

In fact a recent study shows that women who ate tuna during their pregnancies are much less likely to develop any kind of depression either during or after the pregnancy.

Plus a diet that includes tuna is great for the development of small children, and everyone knows that fish is brain food, so this is one of those foods that is beneficial for everyone in the family.

We eat tuna sandwiches and make tuna noodle salad pretty regularly.  But our favorite is the old time comfort food, Tuna Casserole.

This is one of those dinners that can easily be thrown together in no time with very few ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 Bag of Egg Noodles

2 Cans/Bags of Tuna (give or take according to your families likes)

1 Can of Peas

2 Cans of Cream of Mushroom Soup

1/2 Cup of Milk

Shredded Cheese (use as much as your family likes)

Directions:

Cook egg noodles and then put in a casserole dish with all the rest of the ingredients and cook in the oven at 350 degrees for about 1/2 hour.

That’s it!  Super easy huh?
