Teach your child what it takes to bring wheat from a field to the table with this interesting site.

When you get to the site you will be guided through a series of screens that will teach you the entire process involved in turning wheat into food for all of us to eat.

Your child can learn How Wheat Works through planting a virtual wheat field and following through on the entire process you will also be able to donate 2 pounds of flour to the Wheat Foods Council who will make sure that it finds its way to the US troops and their families.

I think this is a great program for all involved. Not only are you able to teach your children some interesting lessons regarding the food they eat, but they will also be able to learn the importance of helping the families in our country who are in need of a helping hand.

The Details:

The Wheat Foods Council will donate 2 pounds of flour to OperationHomefront.net for each person who completes the program. OperationHomefront.net is a non profit organization who provide assistance to need US troops and their families.

They will donate up to a total of 90,000 pounds of flour.

According to the site this is the equivalent of 2,143 bushels of wheat which can be used to bake 1,440,000 blueberry muffins!

You can find a ton of useful information for all ages at the Wheat Foods Council site.
