I was pretty excited when I received my invite to attend Social Media Celebration.

This would be the first time I had ever been to Florida, Disney, or a Blogging Conference.  I wan’t sure what I was in for, but I knew it would be a chance of a lifetime, and I turned out to be right for a change.

We planned to drive to Disney to save money.  It was supposed to be an 18 hour ride which we were sure would be no problem.  After all we drive to my mom’s house all the time which is 8 hours away, so we should be able to handle this for sure.  What we didn’t count on was driving through one of the worst winter storms ever.  You know the one that practically shut down the entire country, yep that’s the one we drove 24 hours in.

We saw over 10 semi’s jack knifed and over 20 spin outs.  We literally were crawling at about 5 MPH down the freeway at one point in Tennessee.  I was praying to make it to dry land alive.  Which we did, in fact it was amazing to see the pixie dust roads that told us we had arrived to Disney World.

I’ll just say I was less than friendly by the time I arrived at Disney.  But after checking in and meeting the kind people in the welcome room and getting a nice bag of swag, I couldn’t help but take a look around me and smile, we had made it.

With a couple of hours to spare before we could check into our room, we decided to take our tickets and our media pass and head to Magic Kingdom!

Seeing the iconic castle towering over the entire park was the perfect way to begin this little girls dream come true.  Although I had no idea what Disney had in store for the Bloggers they had invited down, seeing the castle instantly changed me into a child that believed that dreams could come true.

We spent several hours in the park checking out everything before heading back to the hotel to see if our room was ready.  We were exhausted after a 24 hour drive and several hours in the park, but my adventure was only beginning.

Next up…..ESPN Sports, VoluntEARS Celebration, A private dinner & concert at Epcot, amazing and inspirational speakers, celebrities, and wonderful new friends!  Plus many more special little touches to make this an event that was truly filled with Disney Magic.

This is only the first post in a series that I will post to share all of my experiences while at The Disney Social Media Moms Celebration, so be sure to check back for the rest of the story.

* I was invited to attend this event at a discount price of $350 which covered the conference, Polynesian hotel, park tickets for me and my family, meals, and more.  However, all opinions expressed are solely mine.

I'm so jealous that I did not make it! When I got that email I was sooooo excited!! But I just could not swing it with all the extra cost associated (I would have been bringing 6 people total!). Hopefully it happens again next year, cause I will be there!! :)

I can't wait to read the rest of your posts.

We really had a great time, and I hope that we can go again! Maybe we’ll get to meet at the next one?
