I was totally planning to watch The Oscars last night and completely missed them! I have tried to watch every year, but this year I was so tired that I slept right them. Besides checking out all of the fabulous outfits, I love to listen to the speeches.
It has me thinking about who I would thank in an acceptance speech if I were ever in a position to give one, which would only be in my dreams ![]()
So I think I would have to thank God first because well He is the one who deserves all my thanks and it seems to be proper award winning speech etiquette to do so.
But after thanking the big guy, I would have to take quite a bit of time to thank the other big guy in my life. My husband has been my rock for all of my adult life which just goes to show I need to once again thank God for bringing us together. He puts up with me when he has to, and he has no trouble putting me in my place either which is a rare quality since I can be a bit difficult at times. I know what you are thinking, but it is true ![]()
I was sent this cute Joy of Thank You Red Carpet Kit from Merci Chocolates that I waited to use. But since I slept through the Oscars, I only had a chance to try some chocolate before I did and they were divine! Truth is the chocolates have been calling my name since they arrive this past Valentine’s Day. We had planned to pop some popcorn and make some special drinks to sit and watch together, but that didn’t happen either.
This is where I think about an acceptance speech once again because I would thank God, my husband, and my family for giving me grace when I don’t follow through on my own plans.

Loved seeing all the beautiful gowns
I didn’t get to watch very much of the Oscars last night, but I thought the highlight of the show was the look on Ben Affleck’s face when they won Best Picture. It looked very genuine.
i’d thank my husband, for always singing to me and making me laugh.

I would thank my family for putting up with me.
Daniel Day Lewis cracking jokes about Meryl Streep during his acceptance speech, which finally broke his ultra serious persona. Was a special moment indeed.
I would thank my husband.
IF I won an award like that , I would thank God for helping me through the ups and downs of the life it involves ,… thank my family and friends for encouraging me , supporting me, giving me grace and forgiving me through tough schedules and crazy times which meant they had to sacrifice… thank my team and the cast, who I couldn’t have done it without them… and thank my beloved friends who prayed me through- telling them- you know who you are!
Love MERCI chocolates! I actually first tried them years ago.
Thanks for a sweet giveaway!

The highlight of the evening was the highly emotional acceptance speech by Anna Hathaway. If I had one last night I would definitely be the first one to thank God for allowing me to win and be the creative person I am.

I did not watch the Oscars because I was at a business meeting. If I were to give an acceptance speech I would thank: #1 Jesus, #2. My strong, courageous mother for raising me to Love Jesus. #3 my bff for all her input in my life.

Seth MacFarlane was the highlight for me. I wouldn’t have even watched it if he wasn’t hosting. I would thank my mom for putting me first in her life and helping me to become who I am today!
An Oscar Highlight that I thought was so moving is when Ben Afflek got all choked up thanking his wife and children! He was so humble, and told everyone to not hold grudges! Good advice to give to people~

The highlight of the Oscars for me was Daniel Day-Lewis winning his third Oscar. I think he’s an amazing actor!
I had many moments that were highlights to me: the tribute to the 50 years of Bond movies, and Adele singing! WOW!!!! I loved Ben Affleck’s reaction and genuine emotion when he received the Oscar. The beautiful dresses and suave tuxes. Jennifer Lawrence’s award and acceptance speech. So so many moments!
I will say that I though Seth McFarland as host was a very poor choice. To me, his jokes fell flat.
I would thank my sweetie.
I love seeing all the great gowns.. and seeing Ben Afflack being so humbled about his win
