When my daughter was little she used to come home from school and tell me that she couldn’t see the blackboard too well.
Being the caring mother I am I totally ignored her.
You might be thinking at this point in time what an evil mom I must be. But I want to share a couple of facts about my daughter. She had just gotten her eyes checked a couple of years back and they were perfect, and she can be a bit of a drama queen (especially back then!) so I thought she was just wanting to move to the front of the classroom.
Then after she started to complain about headaches I decided to take her to the eye doctor once again.
Sure enough she was practically blind and I left that appointment feeling like the most awful parent in the world.
The first time she put on her glasses I coul see the look of excitement on her face at the ability to actually see the birds and squirrels outside.
Since then our journey with her vision has gone from glasses to contacts.
When our daughter was 13 years old she started playing volleyball. It wasn’t too long before we saw that volleyball and eyeglasses do not go together. After we made the decision to get our daughter contacts when she was only 13 years old, we had no idea that it would be such a comical beginning to her life as a contact wearer.
The very first time she tried to put them on at home was a disaster. Just as she put in the second contact she blinked sending the contact flying. After searching forever she finally found the dried up hairy contact and threw it away.
Now this was her first time putting them in at home so it was totally understandable. But it was also still very funny, especially when she did it again! Twice she blinked just as she was putting it in and couldn’t find the contact.
She has been wearing contacts for several years now and we are always looking for ways to save on our purchases which has led us to look at online retailers like BuyMoreContacts.com. Seriously they have everything including Proclear multifocal contact lenses which we don’t need, but it’s nice to know where to get them if ever shall and it just goes to show that you can find whatever you need there.
I’m quite sure that you can find exactly what you need if you too are a contact wearer.

My son was always saying he could not see the time on the cable box and many other things. Since no one in our family wears glasses I also thought he was exaggerating. We took him for his 12 year check-up and he was almost blind. He has had glasses for about three months, I have been wondering when we should start contacts. Thanks for sharing your story.
We started the contacts with my daughter after she had been hit with the volleyball and had her glasses g flying a few times. So for us it seemed safer to get contacts, but she just wanted them because she was getting older and thought they were “cool” It was a great step in learning personal responsibility on her part since she knew we’d take them back if she wasn’t taking care of them properly. But she did great!
