In light of the fact that it is the week before Easter, I want to share of the things we do to celebrate.

Yesterday I shared the Resurrection Rolls recipe and activity.  This is by far my favorite activity, and I have great memories of sharing the real story of Easter with my kids and enjoying a yummy treat.

I also like to redirect our focus on the Lord more than ever during this week.  It is a great week to reflect on the gift that he gave and the cost that was paid.

When my kids were little we spent a lot of our homeschool time doing different crafts and activities that also helped direct our focus towards the Lord.  I would share about the Lord with them while we were working on some project.  I have found that just sharing what I know about the Lord in a very natural way works the best for me.

We do still get baskets and fill them with candy, but the basket is not the focus.  We also color eggs the night before which is always a blast for us, but still not our main focus.

We also love to go to church on Resurrection Sunday.

And after we spend time with our family (and this always includes excellent food).

It is a great time for all of us, and I am really looking forward to it.  I would love to hear ho you spend your Easter.

Here are a couple of Easter Resources for you to enjoy with your family this year.

You might have heard of this custom because it is common in southeast Michigan’s Polish communities: It’s called an Easter basket blessing and is held the Saturday before Easter. Families are invited to bring a basket that holds some of the food they will eat on Easter Sunday, and display the basket during a short service at church or the parish hall for a blessing. The Scripture reading for this service is that of the banquet that waits for us in heaven.

Glad to hear all you are planning! I have a few ideas that I’m knocking around. One that I know we will do is make http://www.recipezaar.com/recipe/Chocolate-Crunch-Peanut-Butter-Treats-221504 for neighbors and give them an invite to Resurrection SONday. :D

It’s all about Jesus’s Resurrection for us too; my husband’s family does a bunch of stuff for Easter, but in my family Easter Week is a big deal. We attend a different service each night, starting Thursday.

I love the idea of those Rolls — I’m bookmarking the recipe!
