I don’t know about you, but I just love making all kinds of different soups like fresh creamy tomato or split pea and ham.

But my all time, hands down favorite is a big bowl of classic chicken noodle soup.

I love to keep lots of chicken bone broth on hand so that I can make this chicken soup anytime we are craving it.

How to Make Your Own Broth

When I say that this is one of the easiest recipes I’ve ever made, I mean it.

I literally chop up some carrots, onion and celery and add it to shredded chicken, along with some broth and seasonings.

Using an Instant Pot to make this will cut down your cooking time drastically.

Is it better to cook noodles before adding to soup?

Some people prefer cooking the noodles separate from the soup and then just adding some in right before serving. This will help keep them from overcooking and will allow them to stay firm and not become mushy at all.

What are the best noodles to use in soup?

There are several different noodles that you could choose for your soup, but egg noodles are by far the most popular noodles to use in chicken soup.

How do you add flavor to chicken noodle soup?

The easiest way to bump up the flavor of your homemade chicken soup is by adding the right herbs and seasonings like garlic, pepper, thyme and a bay leaf. Just make sure to remove the bay leaf before serving.
