These homemade crochet baby rattles are so cute and a perfect project for any beginner crocheter.

They make wonderful keepsake gifts and have an added bonus of being very inexpensive to make too.

Supplies:

– Cotton or acrylic yarn – Crochet hook – Stuffing – Small plastic rattle inserts – Safety eyes – Black embroidery floss – Embroidery needle

Sew the head and the body together leaving an opening for you to attach the safety eyes, stuffing, and rattle insert.

Place your safety eyes in the middle row of the head, about 10 stitches apart.

Using the embroidery thread, sew on the nose and mouth on the row that’s just below the eyes.

Attach the ears, they can be as high or low on the head as you’d like. A good place is starting on the 4th row from the middle.
