About twenty years ago, a dream was placed in my heart.
And in just a few months, that dream will actually become a reality!
When I was still in my twenties, I heard a visiting pastor from Uganda speak at our church.
I don’t really remember much about the message he shared that day.
But after the service was over, that pastor found me in the hallway and asked me “So, when will you come to Uganda (Africa)?”
I cannot explain it, but his voice was so loud in my ears, it almost felt like it penetrated my heart with that question.
Ever since that day, my heart has been for Africa.
Over the years since then, every so often, I still hear this question ringing in my ears.
When will you come to Africa?
I wasn’t sure I would ever actually make to Africa myself. So I’ve prayed, supported other missionaries and sponsored Compassion kids from Africa instead.
Every little bit helps, right?!!
As of one week ago, I can now say Rich and I will be joining Key of Hope in South Africa this August.

I’m getting ready to do something I rarely ever do.
I’m hesitant to do this, but I know many, many of you are looking for ways to make a difference in the world and have asked me for input and ideas on how you can make a difference.
So this week, I’m asking you to carefully and prayerfully consider opening up your hearts and your pocketbooks to make a difference in South Africa.
Remember, every little bit helps. There is no amount that is too small.
First off, please know that I only share this with those of you are feeling a tug in your heart to be involved.
I rarely share these types of opportunities because I know that most of you are on tight budgets and I never want you to feel in any way obligated to help.
My friend Tammy, encouraged me to at least make you aware of our need for help.
By putting it out there, it’s my hope that I’ll be giving many of you the chance to join me on this trip virtually, even if you’re unable to actually go to Africa yourself.
