I’ve shared many times here about my story of grace.
I had a pretty rough beginning to my story and statistically should have become a complete mess as an adult. I am so, SO thankful for grace! It took me a while before I began to see my past and my struggles as a really important part of this story that is my life.
The hardships, the pain, the grief all play a part in developing who you are going to be and what kind of life you are going to live. Your perspective is what changes the bad and allows it to become the very thing you need to wiggle your way out of your cocoon and fly.
Yes, it changes you, but you get to choose if it will be for the better or for the worse.
These inspirational tribe necklaces have become so special to me. The truth is that we all get to a point in our lives where maybe we start to believe the negative thoughts that creep into our heads. They like to trick us into believing the lie that we are less than. I know that I can’t be the only one that has struggled with this at some time or another, right?
I have been actively working to retrain my brain to think only good, healthy and positive thoughts towards myself. It is hard, and I have messed up more than I’d like to…
But I can see a noticeable difference in where my thoughts tend to go throughout the day depending on what I choose to focus on.
Did you know that you can actually reroute those thought patterns onto new positive thinking pathways? It takes a lot of practice to make positive thinking a habit that happens automatically, but it can be done.
This is also true for negative thinking.
Whichever one you choose to do more of or focus on will become the anthem of your life.
So I am choosing to practice positivity and search out the beauty in every situation I find myself in, even if it seems there is none to be found.
And you know what? I can always, always find something redeeming even in the darkest corners where the most awful memories are still hiding.
The ones that like to tell me what I can and cannot do.
I love being a person that is defying the odds…and I like to remind myself that Actually, I can!!
To help with practicing my new positive thinking I like to wear my reminders all of the time.
