There’s something extra special about a homemade Valentine.
You know, the kind made with care, thoughtfulness, and a little bit of love tucked into every detail.
When I received one from my friend, it wasn’t just any Valentine.
Along with a sweet, handmade heart that read “I’ll always root for you,” there was a fresh spider plant cutting, ready to take root and grow.
It was such a simple yet deeply meaningful gesture, reminding me that friendship, like plants, flourishes with care, encouragement, and time.
Friendship hasn’t always come easily for me.
Throughout my life, I’ve struggled with making deep, meaningful connections, often feeling like I was on the outside looking in.
But in the last few years, the Lord has surrounded me with a community of friends I never knew I needed—people who encourage, support, and remind me that I am not alone.
This small Valentine was more than just a sweet gift to me from the sweetest friend.
It was a symbol of that blessing, a tangible reminder of God’s faithfulness in bringing the right people into my life at the right time.
Every time I water that little plant and watch it grow, I’ll remember this beautiful act of friendship and the love that continues to take root in my life.
And I’ll remember how much God cares for each one of us, sending us exactly what we need even when we aren’t aware that we need it.
Weekly Wins
It’s well into February, and I finally took my Christmas tree down—though not without a little hesitation.
There’s just something about the warm glow of those twinkling lights that makes everything feel a little cozier, a little more magical.
All through January, I kept telling myself I’d take it down soon, but every evening, as the soft lights filled the room, I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
Now that it’s gone, the space feels a little emptier, but I’m reminding myself that cozy moments aren’t just for Christmas.
I’ll just have to enjoy the soft glow of the flameless candles I have instead.
It’s not quite the same, but there’s still something so peaceful about that gentle flicker—like a little reminder that those cozy feelings don’t have to end with Christmas.

I was so excited when I spotted the cutest heart-shaped cookie pizzas at Aldi—they were just too fun to pass up!
They came in two flavors, chocolate chip, and confetti, and were already fully cooked and ready to eat! Kinsley loved the confetti one, which came in a pink box, and the boys loved the chocolate chip ones.
I knew my grandkids would absolutely love them, and I couldn’t wait to surprise them with a sweet little treat.
There’s just something special about sharing fun, festive goodies, especially when they bring out those big, happy smiles.
It’s the little things like this that make memories even sweeter!
