If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you might remember my weekly Monday Meandering posts from back in the day.
Basically these were random posts where I would share a peek into my life and all of the things I wanted to share or write down here to remember in the future.
They were a lot of fun for me to write and many of you would send me encouraging words to keep sharing my life with you this way.
But then life got busy and I just kind of stopped writing them.
I’ve missed sharing these glimpses into my life and have decided to bring back these weekly posts again, beginning today. I hope you are happy to see them return too!
First things first, I have a huge announcement to share with you!
That’s a picture of our newest grandbaby, arriving sometime around the first week of August.
I’ve known about the new baby for several weeks now, but was sworn to secrecy until our daughter had her first ultrasound.
We had so much fun hanging out with our grandsons while our daughter was at her doctors appointment. One thing I’ve learned is that you are never too old to play!
Of course it took my body a couple days to stop reminding me that I am indeed getting older. The aches and pains were totally worth it to see the joy on the boys faces!
This past week, I tried a brand new recipe that used TWO BAGS of sugar. I always like to try out new recipes, but this one just so happened to be for the bees.
It’s true. I made these sugar cakes to feed our bees who are still trying to make it through the last weeks of winter.
We won’t have any flowers or nectar for them for some time still, and it’s much too cold for them to come out of the hives now.
We wanted to make things easy on them and give them the best chance to survive winter, so we put some sugar cakes in the tops of each hive in case they start to run out of honey to eat.
Will have to wait until spring to see if it helped.
I love this message that I found on my peppermint tea the other day. It’s such a great reminder and I thought you might like to see it too.
Things I’m Loving Right Now
Each week as part of these Monday Meandering updates, I will share a few things that I am loving.
Some things might be serious and some might be silly, but you can bet they are all making my life fuller and you might even love some of them too!
So without further adieu, here are the things that I’m loving this week:
Wordle
Have you tried this new word game yet? After seeing several friends talk about it I decided to give it a try.
I love it because you can only play once a day. You get five chances to guess the word of the day and that’s all. This is a good thing for me because I can get quite competitive when it comes to games. I still remember all of the hours I wasted on Candy Crush.
Try it out here and let me know what you think.
New Crocheted Curtains
I got a new desk and bookshelves in my office for Christmas this year.
I absolutely LOVE the new updated look, but the plaid curtains I had just didn’t go anymore.
I’d a picture in my mind of exactly what I wanted and had been looking for some new ones for a while before I finally found these ones.
Bible Time
I started using a new planner this year, and one of the things I love the most about it is there is a chunk of scripture assigned to read each day.
I began with Genesis and read a little each day, until I finished it last Thursday and I am now working through Exodus. The best part is that Rich has sat down each morning to listen as I read it out loud, while we drink our coffee.
It’s really becoming the best part of the day!
Ten Minutes Daily Exercise
I’ve been taking ten minutes each morning to focus on my own health every day and it’s been amazing.
The program I am using is less than a dollar right now for an entire year of access to workouts, challenges and more.
I started a ten minutes morning challenge that gives me a quick workout to do in ten minutes. It’s a great way to start your day and we can all find ten minutes to focus on ourselves.
Can’t do it in the morning? Maybe you need to set your alarm ten minutes earlier? Or you could do it in the afternoon or evening, if that is when you can find the time.
Okay now it’s your turn!
Leave me a comment below telling me what things you are loving right now, I can’t wait to hear from you.
