Football Theme Lunch
Preseason football is in full swing and your whole household may have the pigskin fever, or maybe you have a little linebacker that started pee wee football.
Cut football shapes from sliced cheese and bread, butter your bread, and assemble. Pop in toaster oven or under broiler until golden.
While still hot cut “laces” from leftover cheese and lay on toasted bread. Include your child’s favorite players number, or their jersey number by cutting it out lunchmeat (we used salami), or just a #1 to let them know they are #1 with you!
Include a traditional stadium or football party snack like honey roasted peanuts. Create a goal post by drawing one on graham crackers with chocolate, or you could use pretzel sticks and peanut butter also.
Add a little pennant mounted on a toothpick to root for your favorite team. You couldn’t have a game without the ever popular Gatorade- Create a field by wrapping the bottle in green construction paper, and use stickers or a white paint pen to create yardage marks.
