How to Make Hot Chocolate Bombs

Step 1: Pour candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 second intervals, or until melting wafers have fully melted. Stirring with a tablespoon in between intervals.

Step 2: Spread melted candy melt into one half of a bomb mold.

Step 3: Using the back of a spoon, press the melted milk chocolate up the sides of the mold, keeping it thick but even until every bit of the mold is covered.

You may add another layer, with a second coat of chocolate if it seems too thin after the first coat.

Step 4: Repeat with all bomb mold halves.

Step 5: Let the molds sit about 5 minutes.

Step 6: Re-spread any of the candy melts that sank to the bottom of the molds.

Step 7: Place the molds in the refrigerator or freezer for about 5 – 10 minutes. You don’t really want them to freeze, this just helps them set up quickly.

Step 8: Once set, carefully remove the candy melt spheres from the mold.

Step 9: Gently press on one side of the chocolate to make the chocolate slid out of the mold.

Step 10: Fill half of the spheres with the hot cocoa powder & marshmallows.

How to Seal a Hot Chocolate Ball

Step 11: Heat a flat bottom bowl or plate in the microwave for one minute, until the surface of the plate is warm to the touch.

Step 12: Press one of the empty chocolate bomb halves open-side-down onto the flat portion of the warm plate for about 10 seconds. This will gently melt the rim of the chocolate cup.

Step 13: Immediately press this warmed edge chocolate cup to the top of one of the filled cups. This will join the two halves of the hot cocoa bomb.

Step 14: You can use the tip of your finger to smooth the melted candy around the seam. You want to make sure it is completely sealed.

Step 15: Draw lines and drizzle the icing back and forth across the chocolate shell, on top of the bomb.

Step 16: Sprinkle the bomb with pink, white and red sprinkles. The icing will act as a glue for the sprinkles to stick to.
