The more I learn about how chemicals used in our household and health and beauty products can damage our health in huge ways, the more I want to learn how to replace those products with simple homemade recipes that are known to actually promote health.
It is really easy to make your own products at home, you can see lots of great homemade recipes to get started today. It will save you time and money if you learn how to make some of your most-used products yourself.

Items Needed:
- Coconut oil
- Lemon essential oil
- Lavender essential oil
- Tea Tree oil
- 4 oz Mason jars
Directions:
Choose an airtight container or glass jar. These 4 oz Mason jars work perfectly.
Soften ¼ cup of coconut oil for about 10-15 seconds in the microwave until it turns into a liquid form.
Stir in 10 drops each of Lemon, Lavender and Tea Tree essential oils. (do not use a metal spoon as it will react with the oils reducing the strength).
Place your mixture in the refrigerator to it to set until firm.
Use by simply dabbing a small amount on acne in the morning and evening after washing and drying your face well.
Why this works:
- Coconut oil is highly penetrating and is absorbed quickly it also immediately begins help clear up scars and helps to protect open wounds from acne that is present. It does not cause more acne; in fact, it also works to eliminate acne before it starts due to its microbial properties.
- Lemon Essential Oil works to help balance overactive sebaceous glands, helps clear non-cystic acne and encourages the exfoliation of dead skin cells.
- Lavender essential oil is very calming and soothes the skin, balances oil production, promotes the healing of blemishes, and helps stimulate the circulation of the skin.
- Tea Tree oil is known for its cleansing properties, making it a top essential oil to help combat non-cystic acne, however, it is not recommended for people with Acne Rosacea.
