I have been struggling with keeping up with a Weekly Cleaning Schedule and find that most days I am just trying to keep up with the dirty dishes and laundry.
It seems that every couple weeks I am revisiting the idea of getting more organized in my life. I would love to be able to say that my issue is that I am too busy to be able to keep up with it all, but the truth is that we are all very busy these days aren’t we.
Thankfully a friend of mine shared her cleaning schedule with me and I knew right away this was something I could easily keep up with.
It doesn’t cover everything, but it gives you a simple way to focus on one thing each day. With this kind of schedule, even if everything doesn’t get done you know that the basics are being taken care of.
Don’t forget to get your kids into the action too! Most of these chores can be completed by children.

Messy Monday (straighten the most used rooms in the house & put things where they go)
Toilet Tuesday ( all bathrooms in the house)
Wipe down Wednesday ( dusting & mirrors)
Thursday is Vacuum/mop day (All floors in the house)
Friday is File day where we organize the homeschool room, pay bills, and get the home organized for the weekend/week ahead.
Here is what my friend had to say about her schedule:
They bring their laundry to the laundry room and sort it on Mondays & Thursdays. Since they have to vacuum on Thurs too, the floors get picked up again without them realizing it
They daily must make their bed, wipe down their bathroom sink, and they alternate weeks of feeding the dog, sweeping the kitchen, doing the dishes, and wiping down the kitchen table.
I have a monthly calendar that I keep in a sheet protector and they mark off what they’ve done. If something doesn’t get done, they don’t get paid for the entire week and if one child is sick, the other child has to pick up their workload ( like in the workforce).
I love this!
I have created a neat and Simple weekly cleaning printableschedule printable that you can post on your fridge so that everyone can tell at a glance what is expected of them that day.
Do you have any tips for keeping a clean house during the year?

This is a great chore system! I’m trying to find one I will actually stick with and I’m going to print this out and try it next week! Thank you 🙂
