Internet shopping has grown rapidly, and many people are choosing to skip the store altogether in favor of shopping from the comfort of home.
Shopping online is a great way to save money, whether you’re picking up daily essentials or making a large purchase.
It often offers more variety and better deals than what you’ll find at local stores.
There are a few things you can do to save even more money when shopping on the internet.
Join Rewards Programs
Joining reward programs for your favorite sites to shop on is a great way to save money when shopping on the internet.
Many of your favorite stores offer free reward programs where you can earn points to save money at a future date.
Many also offer rewards and coupons for simple things like joining their newsletter or leaving a review on the products you buy.
Using these rewards from the company themselves, you can often save large amounts of money on basics you buy on a regular basis.
Join a Deal Group
There are hundreds of online deal groups on Facebook where the admins and, sometimes, even members share deals and coupons they find online.
Just beware, some of these groups may be scammy, spammy, and unethical.
These are often Amazon-based, but if you look carefully, you can find deal groups that cover nearly any shopping site on the internet.
These are a great way to find deals and coupons for your favorite sites.
Try to stay active by commenting in these groups so they continue to show up in your news feed regularly.

Check Coupon Sites
Coupon sites and deal blogs are not as common as they used to be but there are still plenty of coupon and deal sites available on the internet.
Most offer a large variety of coupon and discount codes from across the internet allowing you to save money easily online.
You can often find several coupon sites offering codes for the store you want to shop at.
Be sure to check several sites to see if you can find a better deal.
Keep in mind some of these codes will be a dud so you may need to try a few before you find a coupon code that will work on your account particularly if you are not new to the website.

Get Cashback
Join reward and rebate sites that help you save money by giving you cashback on your internet purchases.
This can be a great way to save money on everyday items when you are shopping for them online.
Popular sites for cashback allow you to get a percentage of your purchase back or a particular amount back on an item.
My favorite Cashback sites:
Some of these programs even allow you to earn rewards when shopping in store with your regular grocery shopping so you can build up your savings for payouts even faster.

Earn Gift Cards
The internet is full of sites that allow you to earn gift cards doing everything from web searches to answering surveys for reward points you can then turn in for gift cards to your favorite internet retailers.
Sites like Swagbucks are still in full swing and a great way to earn gift cards that you can stash away for internet shopping come holiday season.
My favorite sites to earn free gift cards:
This can be an amazing way to save even more money online during the big holiday sales.
Shop Big Sales
When you have a big online purchase coming up, look for big sales that can help you save money.
These can include big events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or annual sales like Prime Day.
During these sales retailers offer massive discounts that help them pull in more sales and their loyal shoppers to save money making them even more loyal to the company.
Often a Google search can tell you when the store you want to shop at has its biggest sales of the year so you can plan ahead to take advantage of these deals.
Some items go on sale seasonally for holidays like Mother’s Day and Father’s Day and these sales can be used to your advantage for getting deals on the big purchases you want.
Planning large items around corresponding holiday sales is a great way to save money and make the most of your budget when shopping on the internet.
Take Advantage of Free Shipping Deals.
Shipping is one area where online shopping can end up costing more than shopping in-store.
As a general rule, if the cost of shipping is more than what you’d need to spend to qualify for free shipping, it’s usually smarter to add a little more to your cart.
You’ll save more overall, especially if you combine it with a sale.
Online shopping makes life more convenient, and with the right strategies, it can help you save a lot of money too.
From joining rewards programs and coupon sites to using cashback apps and shopping during big sales, there are plenty of smart ways to stretch your dollars further.
Don’t forget to plan your purchases around free shipping offers and take advantage of seasonal or holiday deals to get the most for your money.
