This is a quick walkthrough of how it is made.
Step 1: Preheat oven and prep the muffin pan with liners and set to the side.
Step 2: In a bowl or stand mixer cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Then add in the eggs and mix well.
Then add in the mashed bananas and vanilla.
Step 4: Then in a small bowl add your dry ingredients and work in the flour to the wet ingredients.
Step 5: Fold in the chocolate chips.
Step 6: Scoop the batter into the muffin cup, and then bake as directed.
Step 7: Let the banana chocolate chip muffins cool, and then serve and enjoy.
Simply use a mini muffin tin in replace of a regular muffin tin. Then place the muffins in the pan and bake them for a shorter amount of time. Once the muffins are fully cooked allow them to cool and enjoy.
If you are vegan you need to make sure you use dairy-free ingredients that are plant-based. But once you change up the ingredients it then can be vegan-friendly.
You can use frozen bananas you just need to make sure to thaw the bananas first to ensure it incorporates into the batter of the muffins.
Tips For Success
Make sure to cream your sugar and butter together with a hand mixer or whisk. You want it to become nice and light and fluffy. Otherwise, it will not allow your cookies to be so creamy and fluffy.
Scoop the flour into the measuring cup and then level off the top of the measuring cup to ensure you do not add too much flour to the batter.
Use ripe bananas that have brown speckles on them. Otherwise, you will not be able to taste the rich banana flavor of these muffins.
Fold in the chocolate chips to prevent them from getting broken up in the banana muffin batter.
Storing
You can store the banana chocolate chip muffins at room temperature in a container or place them in the fridge.
You can store them on the counter for 3-4 days or in the fridge for 5-6 days.
How to Freeze Muffins
Now you can also freeze any muffins you do not plan to eat right away.
Just place it in a freezer bag or freezer container.
Then freeze for 3-4 months.
When you want one or more muffins simply thaw on the counter or in the fridge overnight.

Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 large or 4 small very ripe bananas, peeled and smashed
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare 12 cups of a muffin pan by spraying with non-stick cooking spray or lining with paper muffin cups; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and mix until incorporates (the batter may seem chunky at this point).
- Next, stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Pour the dry mixture into the wet and stir until combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling them to the top.
- Bake the muffins at 350F for 28-35 minutes.
- Cool the muffins in the pan for 5 minutes, then remove and cool on a wire cooling rack.
