Helpful Tips and Variations

You can use an almond extract, orange, raspberry, or any other flavoring. Add in about 1/4 teaspoon to just a few drops depending on which flavor you use.

Make sure that you use a hand or stand mixer to cream your butter and sugar together. If you don’t have one use a whisk and take time to mix up the butter and sugar to become light and fluffy.

Leave out the chocolate chips if you want more of a plain cookie.

Dust cookies with powdered sugar once they are cooked and cooled. I like to put the powdered sugar in a sifter.

Melt and drizzle chocolate over the cookies. You can do milk chocolate, white chocolate, or semi-sweet or even dark chocolate of choice.

Add some sprinkles into the cookie dough. This will give it a fun look and not alter the flavor of the cookies much at all.

Storing Cookies Made With Condensed Milk

Room Temperature – You can store your cookies at room temperature in an airtight container.

These cookies will store for 3-5 days.

You will find that these are best eaten within the first few days of being made.

Freezing Cookies – If you want you can freeze your cookies for 3-4 months.

Just allow the cookies to fully cool.

Then place in a freezer bag or container.

If you are worried about the cookies sticking you can place wax paper in between the cookies.

Is evaporated milk the same as condensed milk?

No, these two ingredients are not the same and you can’t interchange them in a recipe. Evaporated milk is a very light watery milk. Sweetened condensed milk is a very thick caramel like texture that is sweet.

What does condensed milk do in baking?

The condensed milk in these cookies gives a super moist and tender cookie. The milk helps to lighten up the dessert tremendously.
