Valentines Day Mini Gum Ball Machines

These Mini Gum Ball Machines are so fun and they make the perfect treat for boys and girls this Valentine’s Day.

I don’t know very many kids that wouldn’t love to get a bunch of these bright colored gum balls for Valentine’s Day.

Instead of just handing out a bag of bubble gum, you could take some time to create these mini gum ball machines with your child, to hand out to their friends instead.

Make up a bunch to give away to friends and family.

With just a few craft items, along with some brightly colored mini bubble gum balls of course, you can make these super cute Valentine treats for kids.

  • Multi- color gumballs
  • Clear fillable ornaments

  • Hot glue gun
All of the items needed to make mini bubble gum machines: an empty clear ornament, red plastic cups, a bowl full of colored mini gum balls, scissors, construction paper and markers.

How to Make this Mini Gum Ball Machine Craft

Follow the steps below to make your your own mini gumball candy dispensers that look like the real thing and will have everyone talking.

These are perfect for Valentine’s Day, but they also make great party favors for birthdays and any other parties too!

It is super easy to make up a bunch of these party favors when you follow the steps below.

DIY Candy Dispenser

A rubberband wrapped around a Red plastic cup.

Step 1: Create the base of your gumball machine by placing a rubber band around your red solo cup.

You can use any plastic cup you like, but it’s more fun when you use a brightly colored cup for this project, which is why I would choose red myself.

You can use this rubber band that you put around your cup to help trace a line that will make it easier for you to make a straight cut around the cup.

Step 2: Cut the cup all the way around to shorten it and make your gumball machine base.

Step 3: Take your plastic ornament and separate it, filling it with gumballs and then put the two sides back together.

Step 4: Place a small amount of tape on the outside of the ornament to be sure they stay securely closed.

I use tape to keep it closed so that none of the gum can fall out.

You don’t want to use glue because it still needs to be easy to open by the people that you are giving them to.

Step 5: Create a slit in the top of your cup to stick the ornament on.

Step 6: Place the top portion of the ornament into the slit to help keep it stable and upright.

Step 7: Secure the underside of the cup with some hot glue to secure it in place.

Step 8: The last step is to create a message using your scrap paper.

You can write any messages you’d like to write to the people you will give the gum ball machines to.

You can also decorate with stickers or markers if you would like to.

Remember these are your Valentine’s Day crafts, so have fun!
