To filter the grease place the jar into a pot of water and bring it to a simmer. Allow a full jar of bacon grease meltdown allowing the bits of bacon and contaminants to sink.
After filtering your bacon grease you can opt to remove the top of the bacon grease leaving the sediment at the bottom or store your jar in the refrigerator removing what you need from the top.
